This series is a fluid dance, an endless metamorphosis, where each artwork breathes and evolves. Like a vibrant ecosystem, sandstone, porcelain and natural fibers forms intertwine and respond to one another, creating an organic symphony. Its free-flowing curves and fluid structures whisper of life—the quiver of cells, the texture of tissues, the infinity of the microscopic.

Blending raw materials with light, it captures the vital energy that animates nature, moving between shadow and glow, strength and fragility, balance and motion. Each piece seems to breathe, carried by an organic and poetic rhythm.

An artistic collaboration with Amer Rust

This series is a creative collaboration exploring the richness of cultural and material blending through the artistic encounter between Asmae Laraqui, a Moroccan-born artist working with porcelain, and Amer Rust, a Quebecois artist specializing in steel oxidation. This unique collaboration celebrates identity, cultural, and material juxtaposition by drawing on distinct yet complementary artistic practices.

The series highlights the union of two symbol-laden materials:

  • Porcelain, delicate and fragile, evoking tradition, memory, and history.

  • Steel, strong and transformable, embodying modernity, industrialization, and evolution.

By juxtaposing their works, the two artists create visual dialogues where opposites meet—tradition engages with innovation, fragility merges with strength, and personal narratives become universal. Each piece thus becomes a powerful metaphor for ever-evolving cultural identities, where differences coexist to generate new harmony.

This series is the result of a quest—an alchemy where fire shapes and transcends matter. Like a living experiment, it is the continuation of my research over the past five years, where the fusion of elements has revealed the organic soul of sculpture.

Here, clay, glass, and metal engage in an incandescent ballet—their textures meet, alter, and metamorphose. Through this exploration, I push hybridization to its peak, questioning their ability to merge, to influence structure, light, and color in a delicate balance of tension.

This journey opens the door to exhilarating challenges, where matter becomes language, and collaboration with other glass and metal artists enriches this adventure, giving birth to vibrant works that bear witness to profound transformation

Made possible via a residency Bursary of the Global Skills Opportunity of the Government of Canada and Concordia University

This series is the result of work I carried out during my residency at the Guldagergaard International Ceramic Research Center in Denmark in 2024, where I had the opportunity to experiment with soda and non-soda-firing in the Center's wood-fired kilns.

These works embody where earth and fiber intertwine in a delicate embrace, linking past and present through textures that whisper of time. Each knot is a bond, carrying the weight of memory in the suppleness of rope and the firm patience of clay. Strands twist and weave, seeking their form in the terracotta, tracing invisible paths of resilience, craft, and creation. These pieces are stories sculpted in matter, silent echoes of movement and stillness, forming an unspoken dialogue between tension and release, fragility and strength.
