My sculptures arise from a deep sensitivity to materials and process, where the union of fine white porcelain with fused glass and metal creates a dialogue both refined and courageous. Each material carries its own memory, weight, and fragility, inviting an intimacy between viewer and object. The modest scale of my work fosters close inspection and contemplative reflection, encouraging an encounter that is both tactile and thoughtful. At the points where porcelain meets metal or glass, textures are delicately negotiated rather than imposed, revealing a balance of skill and restraint. These surfaces seem to invite touch—even when sharp or fragile—drawing one into a nuanced sensory experience.

My palette is serene yet complex, echoing the conceptual threads that run through my work: porosity, transition, hybridization. These themes are integral to my exploration of form and meaning, and the craftsmanship and finishing are essential to the voice each piece conveys.

I am drawn to subject matter through a search for harmony between cultures, a journey in which artistic transformation embodies the complexity and fragility of human identity. Ceramics become a space for experimentation and subtle metamorphosis, where the fluid boundaries between materials mirror the porous, transitional nature of experience and selfhood.

Inspiration flows from the interconnection of natural elements—wind, water, earth, oceans, and fire—as well as from traditions, education, and religion, and their profound impact on behavior and social norms. I am compelled by the possibility of breaking away from these norms, pushing material limits and embracing transformation and change.

My work reflects an alchemy of form, where technical choices engage with unpredictability, allowing chance to have a voice alongside intention. The delicate negotiation of texture where porcelain meets metal or glass attests to a practiced hand tempered by restraint. Through this interplay, I hope to evoke ideas of connectivity, memory, environmental decay and regeneration, and the networks—both natural and human—that shape our lives. This complex interplay of themes and materials is what makes my art unique and alive.
